Castleman, Douglas

Douglas Castleman is a 44 year-old artist. He also works as a freelance illustrator and graphic/web designer. He has a strong interest in aviation history and research. He enjoys painting representational art using various media, usually oil or watercolor. Many of his paintings have been sold to people around the United States and, in one case, Europe.

In addition to aviation subjects, Douglas specializes in landscape and marine subjects. He has earned an art degree from California State University, Northridge and a computer graphic degree and a multi-media degree from Platt College, Cerritos, California. He is a member of several art associations, including the Los Angelels Society of Illustrators and the American Society of Aviation Artists as an Artist Member. He has won numerous awards for his art from the various associations.

Douglas has had four solo exhibitions in the Los Angeles area. He has also teaches watercolor for the Yosemite Association. Some of his art has been published, most notably in the book, "The Best of Watercolor."
