DeNardo, Domenic Aviation artist Domenic Denardo has been fascinated with airplanes since he was a child growing up in Providence, RI. During WWII, he was obsessed with drawing warplanes that flew from nearby airfields, such as Corsairs, P-47 Thunderbolts, etc. His interest became more fully realize some 13 years later when he earned his private pilot's license and subsequently purchased the first of five airplanes that he would own. DeNardo received his formal art training at the Rhode Island School of Design. His illustrations have been widely published in periodicals, including Aviation Weeks & Space Technology, Time, Wall Street Journal, and several others. DeNardo's aviation paintings have been selected for exhibition in the EAA Air Adventure Museum, among many other places. His paintings have also won many awards, including "Best of the Best" from Aviation Week and Space Technology for his print "No Quary Today." Domenic and his family have enjoyed many flying adventures throughout the U.S., and he is a member of AOPA, EAA, the Air Force Association, and the American Society of Aviation Artists. |
